This is a really interesting car with a back story that I’m surprised Scalextric haven’t included in their marketing. Richard Lloyd, who was a driver and team owner, invited motorcycling legend Barry Sheene to share his Akai Volkswagen Golf with him in the 1979 RAC Tourist Trophy race at Silverstone - hence the number 7 on the car.
